To be the first choice, self-sufficient agent in labour representation and advancements of members’ interest.
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide labour representation and advance common socio-economic and political empowerment of LEPSSA members.
We shall achieve this through:-
i. Effective and competent leadership.
ii. Active participation of members.
iii. Efficient utilization of resources.
Our Principles: The Association shall:
- Be a non-profit making organisation.
- be non-discriminatory, non-sexist and democratic organization.
- Support the emancipation of women, combat sexism and ensure that the voice of women is heard.
- Strife for the maximum unity of all workers and will respect cultural, political, religious diversity of its members.
- Ensure freedom of speech and freedom of association..
Be governed by principles of: : - Democratic Centralism.
- Collective leadership.
- Recall and activate participation.
- Criticism and self-criticism .
LEPSSA BACKGROUND
LEPSSA was established under the Public Service Act No.13 of 1995 Part 5 Section 31(1) and under Societies Act No.20 of 1996 in October 2004. The association is also formed with the understanding that the rights of public servants are enshrined in the Constitution of Lesotho (Chapter 2, Section 16, (1) which gives every person “Freedom of Association”. Its main aim is to further and to protect the interests of its members, and also to make sure that public servants deliver good services to the nation.
We believe that we, as members of society, are entitled to basic human rights, political freedom, quality public services, good democratic government, a safe and sustainable environment, a just and equitable society, and a peaceful world.
